Taking Action on Climate Change
In a recent report, McKinsey Global
Institute research shows that globally

as effectively and cost-efficiently as
possible.

State Energy Efficiency Policy
The American Council for an
Energy-Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE) web
resource serves as an easy-to-use online
database of energy efficiency policies
in the states, searchable by state or by
policy. The database covers appliance
standards, building codes, clean
distributed generation policies, tax
incentives, vehicle policies, and a host
of utility-related energy efficiency
information.

Introduced
Legislation impacting Economic
Development:
Senate Bill, S-1466, and
Assembly Bill, A-2628 would expand
Urban Transit Hub law to any
municipality with a commuter rail
station (New Jersey Transit Corporation,
Port Authority Transit Corporation or
Port Authority Trans-Hudson
Corporation). This allows all towns to
stimulate more business growth around
train stations that have spurred
economic growth in the state. Senate
Bill, S-281, and Assembly Bill, A-239
also known as the “New Jersey Economic
Development Promotion Act” streamlines
and reorganizes State economic
development statutes in order to promote
administrative efficiency.

Federal Highway Trust Fund:
To prevent a funding shortfall in the
highway trust and avoid delays in
payments to the states for
transportation infrastructure projects
President Bush signed an $8 billion
rescue package for the Federal Highway
Trust Fund. The bill would transfer
$8billion from the Treasury’s general
fund to the highway fund.
